Sergio Prada

SERGIO PRADA was born in Codogno (Lodi) on October 26, 1971. He studied classical guitar with Maestro Marco Stani and graduated from the G.Verdi Conservatory in Milan in 2003, since then he has been working as a classical guitar teacher.

He approached jazz by studying with Simone Manunza and Dario Faiella and then improvised music and research by attending workshops held in Lodi by Alberto Braida and Giancarlo Locatelli. Afterwards he participates to some workshops of musicians like P. Kowald, B.Phillips, M.Mengelberg, E.Prevost and G.Robair.

He is a member of the guitar quartet EXSACORDE with whom he plays a repertoire of contemporary and ancient classical music, both original and transcribed.

He has collaborated for a decade with the SPIO orchestra (Soundpainting Italian Orchestra) as conductor and guitarist and, always in the field of improvised music, he has been part of the FYODOR D trio with Marco Franceschetti and Paolo Benzoni and of Giancarlo Locatelli’s PIPELINE 5.

He has participated in several festivals with various ensembles and has taken part in some theatrical performances as a musician including: PLAY RICCARDO PLAY Shakespearean play for actor and music dedicated to Carmelo Bene with Antonello Cassinotti (actor), Giancarlo Locatelli (composition and clarinets) and Cristiano Calcagnile (drums and percussions); IL COLPO D’ALA with Beatrice Volpi and Michele Fontana; NATA MALNATA with Cristina Zeppini.
