Alberto Braida
Alberto Braida (pianist, composer, improviser) began studying piano at the age of seven and graduated from the “G. Nicolini” Conservatory in Piacenza.
From 1989 to 1991 he attended the Sienese jazz music seminars.
Since the beginning of his activity he dedicated himself to improvisation and to the improvisation-composition relationship.
He has played and collaborated with many musicians including Liz Albee, Ab Baars, Antonio Borghini, John Butcher, Cristiano Calcagnile, Günter Christmann, George Cremaschi, Wilbert De Joode, John Edwards, Lisle Ellis, Massimo Falascone, Wolfgang Fuchs, Ig Henneman, John Hughes, Hans Koch, Peter Kowald, Giancarlo Locatelli, Paul Lovens, Paul Lytton, Edoardo Marraffa, Phil Minton, Pasquale Mirra, Gabriele Mitelli, Filippo Monico, Larry Ochs, Gino Robair, Wadada Leo Smith, Fabrizio Spera, Virginia Sutera, Michael Thieke, Luca Tilli, Sebi Tramontana, Luca Venitucci, Frances-Marie Uitti, Jack Wright and many others.

He has often collaborated with dancers, actors, directors and poets.
He teaches piano and harmony at the Accademia Musicale “F. Gaffurio” in Lodi and has developed a personal approach to music teaching, particularly improvisation.
He has directed masterclasses and workshops at primary schools, middle schools, music academies, cultural associations and international festivals.
He has also been artistic director, together with violinist A. Campagnari and clarinetist G. Locatelli, of the festival “Contemporaneamente” in Lodi. A festival dedicated to contemporary music and improvised music.
