The duo Braida Locatelli in the past 25 years of collaboration has always dug into the same “thing” but has never been firm on its positions. With From Here From There they give us a new chapter in the journey that started from the abstraction of “19 Calefazioni” (Takla rec. 1999) and arrived to the songs of “Nel Margine” (Red Toucan 2012). Here too we start from compositions, nine in all, five by Braida, one of which is already present in the last work and two others that we will find in his trio (Cats in the kitchen) and four by Locatelli that were part of the cycle US, the first publication in a box set by WE Insist!
The basic attitude of Braida and Locatelli resonates clearly in the words of cartoonist Gianni Pacinotti: “Things always happen that are beyond my control when I draw, and this phenomenon is what I love most about my job… to witness, at times, the manifestation of a mystery: that of seeing something happen that you hadn’t foreseen, that you didn’t know, that it’s not your ego that determines and that indeed has been able to exist precisely because your ego has vanished for a while.” (from the interview with Gipi by Nicola Mirenzi, Huffpost)
